Proven experience. Trusted leadership. A vision for Kyle’s future.
Robert Rizo speaking at a community event

Dear Kyle community,

My name is Robert Rizo, and I am a 5th-generation Kyle resident and currently serve as Council Member for District 2. I’ve raised my family here, and there is no other city in the world I would rather call my forever home.

You may know me from my time on Kyle City Council, where I served from 2019-2023 and currently serve as Council Member for Place 2. Here I’ve worked side-by-side with residents to make Kyle a better place to live and raise a family.

You may also know me from my 10 years of teaching at Saint Anthony’s, coaching youth sports, or driving my 41’ Chevy in parades or lending it to our Saint John’s Homecoming Queen candidates. I serve on the board of the Hays County Food Bank, the Hays County Historical Commission, and Chair the CAPCOG Regional Clean Air Coalition. I have also provided scholarships to our graduating seniors through the Knights of Columbus for over 20 years. In total, I have over 30 years of volunteering in Kyle under my belt.

The future of Kyle depends on leadership that knows where Kyle has been, and understands how to lead us into the future, together. Nobody knows this better than me. From the inner workings of the City Council, city staff departments, and ongoing infrastructure projects, I know what is needed to keep moving Kyle forward effectively and efficiently.

During my time on council, I led in the creation of the new Public Safety Center, which opened in 2023 and houses our police department, emergency management dispatch, and mental health services. I also helped create several of our new parks, including Mary Kyle Hartson, Heroes Memorial Park, and La Verde Park. I also helped usher in the 2022 Road Bond to bring much-needed road infrastructure to Kyle, especially in areas east of I-35.

As Mayor, I plan to keep Kyle an affordable place to buy a home, raise a family, and ensure a top-notch education for our children. We must continue to invest in our public safety, our roadway infrastructure, and our parks. There’s no denying that Kyle is growing. We must be smart in our growth and ensure we have the necessary infrastructure in place to meet the demand. Additionally, I would like to revitalize our historic downtown, giving a stronger sense of identity and culture for our great city.

I ask for your support this November. If I haven’t seen you on the campaign trail yet, I hope to see you soon. Thank you!
